Fabian’s Bicycle Transport confirms that the utmost care will be exercised during the transportation of bikes to and from races in South Africa.

Fabian’s Bicycle Transport will not be liable for any action, damage, claim, theft, cost or expense that may arise directly or indirectly as a consequence of any act and/or omission on the part of Fabian’s Bicycle Transport its employees and/or agents (including negligence and gross negligence, except to the extent impermissible in terms of the Consumer Protection Act).

In addition to what is set out above Fabian’s Bicycle Transport will not be liable for any claim and/or damages sustained as a consequence of any act or failure which is beyond the reasonable control of Fabian’s Bicycle Transport, which shall include but not be limited to war, strike, riot, crime, or an event described as an act of God such as storms, flooding, earthquake, etc.

It is your (“the client’s”) responsibility to obtain sufficient insurance cover for your bike while left in the custody of Fabian’s Bicycle Transport.

Fabian’s Bicycle Transport is in no way involved with insurance cover for clients bikes.

Dropping off the bikes

When dropping off your bike, it is not necessary to unclip the front wheel of the bike.

When dropping off the bike, all devices which are not permanently fastened to the bike, such as speedometers, cadence meters, heart rate monitors, water bottles, etc. can also be placed in a clearly marked small bag with name and contact number so as to ensure that none of our cyclists lose any of their expensive equipment.

At Fabian’s Bicycle Transport we realize the value and costs associated with bicycles, and we guarantee that we will take care of your bike as if it were our own.

Ownership

Ownership of the bike always rests with the cyclist, and is never transferred to Fabian’s Bicycle Transport during transportation of the bike.

Fabian’s Bicycle Transport retains ownership over all material used in order to transport the bike, such as the cardboard boxes, strapping material, identification stickers, etc.

Cancellations

All client cancellations received within a period 10 – 30 days before the date of the specific race for which the booking was made, will not be entitled to a refund and will be entitled to a credit.

Any client cancellation received within a period of more than 30 days before the date of the specific race for which the booking was made,  will be entitled to a refund or a credit for any future events with Fabian’s Bicycle transport (Unless the race was sold out. NO REFUND).

Fabian’s Bicycle Transport may cancel the transportation of bicycles to the event up to 10 (ten) days before the date of the specific race. 100% will be refunded to the client and Fabian’s Bicycle Transport will not be liable for any cost.

In the case of an event postponement, your bicycle transport booking will be carried over to the new event date if it was postponed more than 10 days before the event and less than 30 days before the event. If less than 10 days, a credit of 50% will be given to the clients if we have not already started operating the event.

In the unfortunate situation that an event gets cancelled. You will receive a refund or credit if it was cancelled more than 30 days before the event. If an event gets cancelled 10-30 days before the event, you will receive a credit for the same event the next time it occurs, should there be a price increase – the client will need to pay the difference in price. Should you not be in the position to proceed with the event the following year. You can transfer your credit to any other event as a 50% DISCOUNT coupon. Please contact Fabian directly to organize this. 

Personal information

Through the act of booking a bike for transportation with Fabian’s Bicycle Transport, either via EFT or via credit card, the cyclist gives express permission for Fabian’s Bicycle Transport to make use of the personal information obtained in order to contact the cyclist with regards to future races and/or promotions offered by Fabian’s Bicycle Transport.

Through the act of booking a bike for transportation with Fabian’s Bicycle Transport, either via EFT or via credit card, The cyclist also gives express permission for Fabian’s Bicycle Transport to make use of the cyclists’ personal information in order to further future business opportunities and database interests.
